Arbed gives you a few specialized functions for inspecting and editing REALbasic projects.

Many of them are free for your use, such as:

• View differences between two projects, much clearer than with a plain text editor using the VCP or XML project formats.
• Consolidate all external items into the project or into a single folder for easier re-distribution of your large projects.
• Find text in multiple projects in a single step, selecting the folder(s) containing all the project files to be searched.

However, some operations require a license purchase before they can be used:

• Using the File menu's Save operation, which applies when…
• you've used the "Apply" buttons to merge differences between two compared projects,
• used the "Prepare Project for Localization" feature or
• used the "String Obfuscation" feature or
• deleted or modified items in an opened project.
• Saving the HTML output from source code to disk.
